volunteering Highlights

  • Young Artists Committee Member

    This opportunity is aimed at young people interested in art and social action who are aged 16-23 and based (living, working and/or learning) in Govanhill or the surrounding Glasgow Southside area.

    All applicants must be able to commit to attending regular committee meetings, which currently take place twice a month on Thursdays from 5 - 7 pm.

    Travel & access costs are covered for meetings, along with tasty food at each meetup. Committee members also receive a stipend for their time, equal to £100 every 3 months.

    Youth Community Support Agency (YCSA)

    YCSA are looking for volunteers for their Canvas Of Hope project, a flagship community based creative therapeutic programme.

    This would involve supporting the Family Support Worker with advocacy work and ongoing practical and emotional support to families from the global majority (BME), asylum seeking and refugee backgrounds who are experiencing hardship or adversity in an empowering, culturally sensitive and inclusive manner.

    Home-Start Glasgow South are now recruiting for their next Volunteer Training Course in February.  Home-Visiting volunteers play a vital role in supporting families across the southside of Glasgow.

    If you have experience as a parent or carer and can spare 2-3 hours per week, you can support a family when they need it most.

    Volunteers will receive full training and expenses.
