We’re Looking for a New Chair

Would you like the opportunity to develop your experience in the community sector? Do you live, work or are well connected in the south east of Glasgow? Do you support our aims to build a community across the south east of Glasgow which is actively welcoming, inclusive, and anti-racist? We’re looking for a new Chair to join the South East Integration Network board of trustees.

In this role, you will help shape the direction of the network and support SEIN to achieve its aims; connecting SEIN members, and furthering community integration activity in the south east of Glasgow (read Our Mission).

Becoming the new chair

Now is an exciting time to become the Chair of SEIN as the organisation enters a new phase with active and growing membership. We have recently completed our 3 year strategy and welcomed 2 new board members. Meet our board here.

What we can offer our new Chair

  • Support and guidance from our current interim chair (who is staying on the board)

  • External mentoring from the Cranfield Trust

  • Training and development opportunities, particularly around leadership and charity governance.

Time Commitment

Time commitment is a big question for most people when thinking about joining a board; especially in the role of Chair. We hope that the time you give to SEIN will be rewarding and beneficial to you, however, we will do our best to make sure the role can work around your life, work and other commitments.

We would like the SEIN board to reflect the diversity of the network, and welcome interest and applications from people from all ages, stages and backgrounds. If you are interested but feel you have specific barriers to taking on this role, please let us know so we can talk about how we can address these and make it possible for you.

Read more about the time commitment & responsibilities of the role in the documents below.

We have signed the Equality Action Pledge, and are committed to fulfilling this.

“The SEIN board has given me opportunities for new learning, and a greater understanding of my local community. It’s given me a huge appreciation for the third sector and the passion and professionalism and resilience in the face of much potential uncertainty. I’m humbled by this after working in public sector all my life.”

– Karen Krawczyk (SEIN Interim Chair)

“Being on the SEIN board is my first board experience. It is a great opportunity to work with warm welcoming individuals who are always looking out for you and want the best for you.”

– Angie Mwafulirwa (SEIN Board Member)
