There are many ways you can support local organisations, including making in-kind donations! We’ve put together a convenient list of our members that our looking for in-kind donations, and what it is they’re after.

Crossroads YCA - clothes

Crossroads Youth & Community Association run a free clothes ‘shop’, where community members can take any clothes they may need.

Govanhill Baths Community Trust run the People’s Pantry, a membership-led shop providing access to affordable, nutritious, and culturally appropriate food, as well as household essentials.

The Castlemilk Pantry - Food
Castlemilk

The Castlemilk Pantry offers residents of G45 access to healthy and affordable food, whilst addressing the issue of food waste

Glasgow Food not Bombs - Bulk vegan Food, Individually packaged vegan food items, takeaway cups and cutlery

Glasgow Food Not Bombs take donated food that would otherwise be unused, cook it and then share it out free to everyone and anyone in Govanhill.

Dress For Success - good quality women’s work appropriate clothing, shoes, bags, accessories, Unopened Cosmetics, Toiletries
Central

Dress for Success provide their clients with professional work wear for interview or for starting their new job. They don’t have laundering or repair facilities so all donations must be clean and in good repair.

Amma Birth Companions - Baby and Pregnancy Supplies (Details Below)
Central

Amma provide care, information, and advocacy to ensure parents experiencing multiple disadvantages can give birth and parent safely and with dignity. They accept donations of clean, good condition: prams, particularly for newborns or twins; moses baskets; manual breastpumps; TENS machines; birth balls; pregnancy pillows; newborn size nappies and wipes.

Music Broth - Instruments
Southside Central and Glasgow North

Music Broth runs an instrument library, they take donations of certain instruments - what they’re looking for varies so make sure to check out their list of what they are accepting before donating. They run ‘donation days’ when you can drop off donations - the details of these can be found via the same link.

Sharpen-Her run drop-ins to support women in their community, including providing hygiene products where possible.

Merry-go-round - Maternity and Child Supplies

Merry-go-round accept (just about) everything maternity to children age 5 including clothes, toys, books, maternity items, cloth nappies, moses baskets, prams and buggies, nursery furniture, stair gates, jumperoos and activity centres.

Castlemilk Community Church - Household Goods and Child Supplies
Castlemilk

Castlemilk Community Church welcomes donations of furniture, household goods, electric goods, baby and toddler equipment and toys. They don't take larger items such as 3 seat sofas and large wardrobes. They can pick up Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday by appointment. Handed in items welcome Tuesday to Friday mornings.
